Granite slabs are cut from granite blocks, using rope or disc saws. Granite (Italian granito, from Latin granum – grain), is the magmatic rock, rich in silicon dioxide. This is, actually, one of the most common rocks in the Earth crust. Granite consists of potassium feldspar, plagioclase, crystalline silica, also, mica, amphibole and pyroxene. Granite texture is normally holocrystalline, occasionally porphyraceous and gneissose-banded. Due to its physical and mechanical properties, granite is an excellent building material. Solidity and density of granite, its broad texture opportunities (an ability to assume mirror polishing, when the irridescent sparkle of mica insert play will appear in the light; the sculptural expression of rough unpolished light-absorbing stone) make granite one of the principal materials for monumental sculptures. Granite is also used for manufacture of obelisks and columns, and as an excellent facing material.
We offer our clients:
Slabs of necessary measurements as their cost depends on slab measurements. Standard slabs for desktops are more than 3.0 m long and 1.8 m high. For building products slabs should be smaller in size as the purchase price of material from open-pit directly depends on block measurements. In order to get the maximal beneficial price, we ask our clients to inform us about the purpose for which you require the particular slabs.
Our production capacities allow us to perform any kind of final slab processing, necessary for our clients. The most popular kinds of processing include: polished surface, mat surface, leather-like surface, flame-treated surface and bush hammered surface.
